Feb 14, eleventh ranked Village girls competed in the 2-A state playoffs against the fourteenth seed St. Davis. The first meeting between the two teams was canceled due to the majority of the St. Davids team experiencing flu symptoms.
Village’s girls started the first quarter on fire with Makayla Kimble leading the way. Chloe McGlown came off the bench making significant contributions to the team. McGlown excelled in playing defense and rebounding and played one of her best games of the season. Sam Spooner was also a major contributor. Spooner ran the floor well, got to the open spots, and finished well around the rim.
Village defeated St. Davids and advanced to the sweet 16 where they faced Cary Christian, a team they lost too earlier in the season. Village fell to Cary Christian 26-69 in a game that doused their title hopes and ended a great season.
