The varsity boy’s basketball game at Northwood Temple Academy on Friday, Jan. 12, was one of the best games to watch this season. Their small gym was completely covered with cheering and screaming fans. Not only the first floor of the gym was filled with people, but there were also a bunch of people sitting on the running track of the second floor above the basketball court.
“The game was so intense, it was hard for me to watch” tenth grader, Matthew Mund, said. “It was hard to watch our team lose after all of the work they put in during the other three quarters.”
Village was ahead for almost the entire game until Northwood started to slowly take the lead. NTA was 10 points behind with three minutes left on the scoreboard. Throughout those short minutes, they started to take the lead. By the end of the last quarter, Northwood was two points ahead of Village. It was a rough defeat, but the boys played with full determination to win and played to the best of their abilities.
On Tuesday, Jan. 30, there will be another game against Northwood here at Village. Any student who wears white and stands in the student section will get into the game for free. Hope to see you there!
